You are so far off base with you assumption, no that was never the case, I even annonced in a chat box comment that I would be going to play a live venue, Dave can confirm this as I folded a hand against him when I had 2 pair Aces over.

And to add weight to my comment when the OL champ's were annnonce I stated then I would still support my venue Sat night.

Just think about it this way we are a small town, that has 2 venues the Sat night venue struggles to get good numbers, thats why I prefer to support it rather than an OL event, unless we support it the venue may decide not to host poker, lucklily enough riverlanders tend to support 888pl if one closes another takes up the slack ie Barmera finishes Loxton started.

Well then why did you spend $30 buying into the main event?

Des' assumption is in fact less stupid then spending $30 for an hours worth of play.

ok, so this begs the question, why didn't you just unregister from the event and pocket the $30?

smittdoggy wrote:Hi Garth, not sure if your the man to address this to . ( but hey you are the man ;) ) just a quick comment on the main event online. For me being silly as i was didnt think it would run as long as it did and i ran deep but as it hit 3am i had enough due to having to work 12hrs the next day with a early start.
i understand these late finishes on weekends are not a problem for everyone. But would like to see if thats something that may be addressed in future as a earlier finish may also create some more runners.
for me to go on and win at 7am was unrealistic and would of liked a fair crack it.
plus one more thing i noticed there is no hand for hand feature on 888 when bubbling for the money. is there any reason for this as it happens in live events and on every other poker site i play on.
sorry to ramble just thought i would ask, and sont get me wrong i loved the event
cheers chris

I was also surprised it ended so late/early (depends how you look at it).

I expected 3am-ish, by 7am i was wrecked and also had commitments on Sunday. But i'm $1k richer so am certainly not complaining.
Keep the 20k start stack, reduce the blinds to 20 mins (from 25) IMO. This would (hypothetically) have ended it 20% earlier & not ruined the 'deepstack' feel.

ok, i stand corrected.

if i really wanted to go to the venue, i would have done what gundog did, just try and flip myself up a stack and hope to blind out until i came home from the venue.

Hi Guys,

So what is the question?

All I get out of this is that perhaps I shouldn't put warnings on events because noone reads them anyway?

I can change the structure and have no issues with doing so; but please don't complain about timings and commitments when I stated the minimum hours this tournament would go for and the structure had been up for over 6 weeks.

Now finally, the rest of the hijacked thread, WTF?? Is it a question for me.....? If it isn't GTFO and find your own thread, this is the last warning about hijacking in this thread before I start throwing the ban hammer and seeing who is hit!

JOKES...... but seriously start another thread for discussion.

Please make the main event 20 minute blinds next time.

NO!

Kidding, not an issue; will reduce to 20 minutes!
