We ceased to operate events at this venue for reasons that were many.

The main reason is that it was an unsafe environment and our contractors and players did not feel 100% completely safe operating in this venue.

I played at the venue 4 out of the five weeks it operated and never once felt unsafe or uncomfortable.

If NPL felt that way about this venue then why was a new season allowed to begin?

Your opinion or perception is incorrect. There were several issues with operating events at this venue. I will not discuss them on a public forum.

A new season was allowed to commence under the obligation and understanding from venue management that certain practices and attitudes would be changed.

They weren't. It also didn't help that this venue was defaulting on their account.

Really. Were you there? That was the most amount of money I have ever spent at an NPL event. And for what? Absolutely no chance of making the final through that venue, which, entertainment or not, we are all here to do.

I didnt say it was. But it is a disgrace. The venue only operated for total of 5 weeks.

Risk VS Reward,

The risk was greater than the reward (by the sounds of it the reward was nothing!!) so what we should be saying is well done NPL for shutting down a tournament venue from an unsafe, unscrupulous and poorly run business.

A poorly run business takes risks themselves to make up for poor management.

For all you know that really nice beer battered fish & chips you were having to stamp up your Poker Passport was 4 week old chicken that was rancid enough to smell and be sold off as fish but deep fried just enough to kill the salmonella. (This is not factual, I have no evidence to support this statement.) Or as another example;

Management didn't provide sufficient crowd control for the venue to ensure NPL employee/s and customers were (at least some what) safe.

I say well done NPL for standing up against rogue management and providing a safe working environment for your employees, even when it does cost you a share in the market and a few dollars.
