If this was me, the guy would be holding KK.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

Re: Poker Question July 13th
I'm used to these questions because I answered the polls on PokerListings.com. More often than not the "answer" is the more aggressive play, and given the information... given, I assumed that would be it.
Sometimes they're not the greatest questions to debate because there is so many unknowns.

We've how about links I would like to know I walk the line scrunches line at how the client Lawrence etc. etc.

muzz is right. they give you limited information, and usually the answer they choose is the most aggressive one.
and their answer is...
Spoiler:
i am still thinking shove here, but i am not totally convinced
continue the discussion, it has been great.

also, think of it as a 1/2 online game, which is MASSIVELY different to a 1/2 casino game. you can definitely assume that the players at a 1/2 online game know what they are doing.
trishan wrote:Also remember that even though the situation is +EV, folding and waiting for a better spot is also +EV.
i dont necessarily agree with this - folding and waiting for aces is definitely not +EV

That is the worst answer ever.
You have nine outs twice? LOL.
What was the poll showing?

Re: Poker Question July 13th
I think that's the point of them posting that type of question though.
It gets people to actually think about different aspects of the hand and consider other points of view (assuming reasons given are thought out and explained well).
There are different options and more than one of them could work, it just depends on what you're actually trying to achieve at that point in time.
**edit** benny the cunt... where did he say aces? that's ridiculous

Re: Poker Question July 13th
Think it was 40% for calling and 37% for all-in.
What do you think of his bet size on the flop Garth? Can you ascertain anything from that?

Re: Poker Question July 13th
poll is showing
Fold 10%
Call 41%
RAI 36%
Min raise 13%
i dont like the answer either, but i still think shoving is the way to go.
garth, are you happy folding the turn if he fires again?
i was just making a point that folding and waiting for a better spot isnt +EV if a current situation is +EV.
you can claim that a current situation is marginal, but saying its +EV and then folding is wrong
this is a marginal spot though, ill stop arguing on semantics.

I was gonna pull out a quote from Sklansky or Brunson RE: folding when a call is +EV but I couldnt find it. Basically sometimes its more +EV to fold a +EV situation knowing that there will be a better +EV situation around the corner.
You can definitely use this guys agression at a later stage in a better position and not necessarily with aces.

Re: Poker Question July 13th
Yeah I don't think the situation is necessarily +EV at all. Which is why we're all having this discussion
Now if we were holding 9T of spades we should rejam instantly because we just know we're going to be shipping it.
